We heart Lisa Jones Studio...

It's true. We admit it. We have a big ol' crush on Lisa Jones Studio. It's not just that their new tea towels are utterly A-mazing, but everything else they produce makes us smile every time! We first blogged about Lisa and her partner Edward way back in 2010 and our love for them (aka slight obsession) just keeps on growing...

Their ever-increasing card range and new clocks are adorable and we especially love this bright yellow beaver mug (which cheerily stares back at us every time we open our kitchen cupboard).

If super-cute creatures just aren't your bag (!!?) then you should check out Lisa's blog; erudite to the nth, it's full of interesting ponderings, gallery visits, good reads, and enviable charity shop finds...

Dinosaur Day Out!

It was a bit dinosaurtastic in our household over the weekend; we've been out and about in Oxford, taking photos of some fantastic new dinosaur tea towels that we've just added to ToDryFor.com!

Produced for an exhibition in LA called 'When Superstars Ruled The World', Jay Jay Burridge's new dinosaur towels are a must for any palaeontologists, tea drinkers, or carnivorous design-lovers out there...

The lovely people over at Oxford's Natural History Museum gave us permission to pose with the Tea Rex tea towel in front of their marvellous T-Rex, although they probably hadn't bargained on their lifelike dino taking a chomp out of my head.

Andy, our super friendly local butcher, was very patient with us whilst we carefully positioned the Dino Meat Chart tea towel in between briskets. Triceratops sirloin, anyone?

Jay Jay's dinosaur tea towels are priced at £9.95 and are available in three different colourways per design. Check them out here...

Tea Tea Tea Teatopia!

If, like us, you like tea, then you really have to head on over to the fabulous Teatopia exhibition at Museums Sheffield (funnily enough, it's in Sheffield)...

The exhibition delights in everything to do with tea, exploring its links with countries and cultures throughout history, tea-drinking customs around the world and, best of all (we think), it encompasses tea-related paraphernalia. That can only mean one thing... you guessed it, tea towels!!

Image © Museums Sheffield

Museums Sheffield share our viewpoint that the humble tea towel is a great canvas for graphic design; they even commissioned an amazing, up-and-coming local artist, Geo Law, to create a new design specifically for the exhibition. With a little bit of help from us Geo's wonderful Bird Bath design has been transformed into a tea towel (see below)! Heck, I couldn't imagine anything better than a bath full of tea (well, maybe a bath full of gin)...

Geo's Bird Bath tea towel is on sale in Museums Sheffield's shop, and is also available here via ToDryFor.com.

Teatopia runs from 1st July - 24th October 2010. Why not make it a date and go for afternoon tea and cakes whilst you're there?

Storm in a Teacup - hoist the mainsail!

Hooray! Also 'just in' is another new design to add to our ToDryFor artist-commissioned range; this time it's a tempestuous treat from designer/illustrator HelloWilson!

Batten down the hatches, position your compass to tea time, and set sail back to dry land (and dishes)!

Storm in a Teacup is priced at £9.95 and can be purchased here...

Sunny Days are here at last!

Here in the UK we've recently been enjoying the first few (and probably last) sunny days of the British summer. We're all packing up our picnic baskets, buying strawberries by the bucket-load and heading on down to parks and beaches across the country!

Why not bring the sun (and his hat) into your kitchen with one of the latest tea towels in our ToDryFor range? Designed by Ben Javens, an artist whose retro-aesthetic we've been lusting after for some time now, the Sunny Days tea towel will transform dull days into happy times.

We also fell in love with Ben's inspiration for the design, a beautiful and cheery song entitled Take A Picture, by Margo Guryan:

We've been singing it in the shower ever since we heard it!

Sunny Days is priced at £9.95 and is available here...

These tea towels are making us hungry!

We've added a few new tea towels to ToDryFor recently, and we suddenly realised that a lot of the designs we stock feature food and drink. Obviously this shouldn't be too surprising, as tea towels are normally found in kitchens, but at least now we've worked out why we're always hungry! Here are just a few of the new foodie designs:

Tunnock's (designed by Gillian Kyle) - £7.50

Strawberry (designed by Thornback & Peel) - £11.50

Coffee and Cake (designed by Mr.PS) - £8.50

Tasty tasty tasty!!!

AARRGGH! Panic! It's nearly Christmas...

Goodness! How did that happen? It's December already, which means that it's nearly time to dust off the decorations and get ready for Christmas.

If like us you have been putting off your xmas shopping for as long as possible, you will now be in a state of festive-induced panic...Don't worry, there's still time to listen to Mariah Carey's Christmas album whilst snuggling up in front of the fire with a glass of port and some mince pies.

Here are the all important 'order by' dates to ensure you get your tea towels in time:

UK:
Friday 18th December

Western Europe:
Thursday 10th December

Japan, USA, Canada and Eastern Europe:
Wednesday 9th December

Rest of world (including Australia and New Zealand):
Thursday 3rd December

If you have an emergency that means you are unable to place your order before the above dates, do get in touch and we will try to work our delivery magic to ensure you get everything you need.

Don't forget, if you pull the short straw this year and have to clean up after Christmas dinner whilst everyone else snoozes in front of a festive You've Been Framed, at least you get to do it in style with ToDryFor...Merry Christmas!

Fancy a cabbage with your tea towel, sir?

We had a great day out yesterday, running a [fruit and vegetable] tea towel stall at Midcentury.Modern. We weren't sure if our matching ToDryFor aprons would be a bit OTT, but now we don't really want to take them off!

We met lots of amazing people, including the wonderful Ben Javens, the delightful (and very funny) Sara Fowles, and the lovely Ruth Green.

It was so much fun chatting to people (it's very rare that we ever get to leave Tea Towel Towers) and now we get to eat cauliflower soup for the next 5 weeks! Woo hoo!

ps - our super special tea towel bunting was very kindly made for us by haberdashery queen Fliss Russell - thanks Fliss!
pps - more about our exciting new brochures tomorrow...

We Heart Computer Arts!

Wow! Friday Fun! Boy wonder illustrator Stuart Kolakovic has been featured in a fantabulous article about applied graphics in the November 09 issue of Computer Arts (on the very first page of editorial, no less). Just to add to the excitement, they've included a massive picture of the super kitsch 'Right On' tea towel that Stuart designed for us. Yay!

Stuart describes his style as "wannabe '60s Slavic and '70s folk art". We simply describe it as awesome! Find out a bit more about Mr Kolakovic here...

Give me wine, sunshine, and breakfast in bed...

Ooooo nothing beats a nice bottle of wine with dinner, shared between friends (or not, as the case may be). Keep Calm Gallery have yet again come up trumps with the newest in their range of slogan tea towels.I feel like somebody has made my own personal tea towel with the design above, and the one below comes a close second...

Both tea towels are now available from ToDryFor, priced at £8.50.
I reckon they'd make very good presents for dinner parties...just a thought!
